Physical Activity and Learning Program

Multiple faculty members along with graduate students in the College of Education and the College of Public Health are working in a new after-school enrichment program in Clarke County schools aimed at improving the children’s health and stimulate their learning in reading and mathematics. The new after-school program is the culmination of more than a decade of research that shows that children’s increased physical activity can lead to higher academic achievement. Georgia has partnered with Fowler Drive and Chase Street Elementary Schools in serving 60 children in second through fifth grades.
