Former UGA track athlete Jarryd Wallace willingly opted to have his leg amputated at age 20 after several years of battling chronic compartment syndrome. Driven by his faith, Jarryd overcame physical barriers and continued to train and compete. In the summer of 2012, two years after his surgery, he was chosen to represent the U.S. in the Paralympic Games in London.
